We had a great day today…Lucy was a little ornry first off and we traveled by the seat of our pants for awhile, but she got her act together. Brugge was awesome and we took a canal ride and had Belgium Waffles and Belgium chocolate and bought a Belgium Lace bookmark. Do I have to eat Brussel Sprouts while I am here too?
Now we are at a military hotel across from the NATO base outside of Brussels in their computer center. We have time change tomorrow, but I hope I can still sleep in.
FYI
- The gps is Lucy
- The itouch is Ethel
- My kindle is Brittany
- Steve’s kindle is Marion
The naming of the car??? It is still up for grabs. Andy votes for a Swedish name (Gail’s delivery van is “Brutus”).
Did Brugge look like it did in this movie? Was it dreadful like Colin Ferrel’s character thought? :
“If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Brugge might impress me. But I didn’t, so it doesnt.”
“Maybe that’s what hell is: the entire rest of eternity spent in Brugge”

When you were in Sweden, did you celebrate National Waffle Day? March 25th? They mark the beginning of Spring by eating waffles.

I almost hate to ask this…but what is a kindle?

its a way to read books electronically….kinda like an ipod > music a kindle > to books.
however it connects directly to amazon to download and you have the ability to still underline and highlight things in the book and take notes.
I must say thatI didn’t like that film at all, I did try , award winning film etc etc etc mmmm. the chap jumping off the tower was the final straw. I most definatley will be trying to iliminate all thoughts of said film from my mind when I visit there.
I agree gail! The film was 2 hours that I will never get back. In fact, I think the trailer has the best parts–I think the line about nothing good happening In Brugge was about the movie, and not the town.
Brugge was a must! Needed more time and a chance to take a tour in a horse drawn buggy. $10 for a waffle and $8 for a cup of tea…but I didn’t pay to see the movie!
I am overwhelmed with the electronic world you have become sooo adept at using!! A kindle?? do I need one to come to Italy?
